We’ll draw inspiration from the work of established steel sculptors like David Smith, Richard Serra, and Antony Gormley. This class will run more like a class in art school, with slides, discussions, and exercises on sculptural concepts like:
So if you’re a professional artist or you have no idea what any of those terms mean, we’ll teach you and you’ll learn to better use the MIG welder, learn some new building processes, and gain a greater appreciation for established steel sculptors
Class Details: Class cost is $180 instruction fee, $225 materials and shop usage fee. Materials for personal project budgeted at $50, with students responsible for overages. Ages 18 and older. Class limit of six. Typically happens in May and October.
Requirements: Oxyacetylene sculpture required. Intro MIG is recommended but not required. Ages 18 or older, or permission of the instructor.
