Chopper Bikes and Ciclavia Style

 Chopper Bicycles And Ciclavia Style

Going out to the playa or heading to Ciclavia (or the Venice boardwalk)?  Better get ready, and part of your prep should be to create a distinguished and distinguishable looking steed.  If you’ve ever seen a tall bike and wanted to ride the sky, or seen a low-and-slow lowrider and wanted to learn that, we can do it.  If you bring two bikes in, we can even make a tandem.

You’ll need to bring in a steel frame bicycle (if unsure, use a magnet or look for rust).  Wheels, seat, all of it intact.  From there, we can chop apart the frame and turn it into a tall bike, a lowrider bike, a tandem (bring two), a backwards bike, a unicycle, or whatever you’ve got in mind.  I’ll supply the extra steel and I’ll have a bin of scrap bicycle parts to pick through.  If you need something specific though, you’ll be responsible for picking that up.

Class Details: Class will run on six consecutive Thursday nights, 7-10pm, starting Jun 2, 2016.  Instruction and Materials fee is $405.  Materials for modifying bicycles will be provided, but you’ll have to bring your own steel frame bicycle (test with a magnet) and any specific bike parts you might want to add on.  There will be plenty of regular steel tube to weld in too. Limit of six people.  Note on waitlists.
Prerequisites: Intro MIG is no longer a prereq for this class, but it is recommended to make the most of your bicycle making time.  18 or older.  Standard clothing.

Refund/Rescheduling Policy:

Cancellation Policy: We hope you can make the class, but things happen.  If you need to cancel, we can refund your money 7 days ahead of the start of the class (minus a $25 registration fee).  You can reschedule the class 48 hrs before the start of the class.  There are no refunds or rescheduling 48 hrs after that.

For six week classes, the first two classes cover the most critical material.  If you miss one of those, we’ll need you to make it up with a private lesson before continuing on with the class (at a discounted rate of $45/hr).  After the first two, you can make up one class for free during open shop hours when it’s slower (so not Weds or Saturdays).  After that, regular open shop rates apply.  There are no refunds after the first class of a multi-session class.
